Cultural Awareness is one of Lambda Theta Nu Sorority, Inc.’s primary principles.  Sigma chapter is comprised of ladies from various ethnic backgrounds instilling appreciation and respect for not only Latina/o culture, but all others as well.  Although Lambda Theta Nu Sorority Inc. is a Latina based sorority, it is open to and welcomes ladies from any cultural background.

 

 

As a tradition of Lambda Theta Nu Sorority,

Inc., the Sigma Chapter has a step/machete

team.  The tradition of Lambdas incorporating

machetes with our step performances is used

as a symbol of strength.  Although, traditionally

machete dance is to showcase the bravery of

men, Lambdas have used this as a symbol of

empowerment and exemplify the integration

of Latinas into every facet of life not

traditionally meant for us.
